Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using STLSite (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The service
STLSite provides browser-based tools for slicing STL files into printer-ready G-code and for converting STL files to formats such as OBJ, 3MF, GLB, glTF, STEP, PLY, DXF, FBX and SVG. The Service is provided free of charge and runs in your web browser. It is an independent utility and is not affiliated with Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio or their makers.
Your files and content
You keep all rights in the files you use with the Service. Your files are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to or stored by us (see the Privacy Policy).
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use, convert and print any model you process, including any copyright, licence or other rights in it, and that your use complies with applicable law. Because we do not receive your files, we do not review or moderate them.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or the rights of others;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, or to gain unauthorised access to it;
- use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on it; or
- misrepresent the Service or its outputs, or suggest that we endorse you or your products.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the open-source licences of the software the Service is built on.
Generated output and safe printing
G-code and converted files are generated automatically from the model and settings you provide. They may contain errors or be unsuitable for your particular printer, material or model. Printer and material profiles are starting points, not guarantees.
Before printing, review the preview and the generated G-code, check that temperatures, speeds, start and end code and bed size suit your machine, and begin with a test print. 3D printers involve high temperatures, moving parts, electricity and fumes, and can cause fire, burns, injury or damage if used improperly or left unattended. You are solely responsible for operating your equipment safely, for supervising your prints, and for the results of using any output from the Service.
Intellectual property and open source
The STLSite name, logo, design, text and site code are owned by or licensed to the operator of the Service and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Slicing is powered by CuraEngine, used under the AGPL-3.0-or-later licence via the open-source cura-wasm project, and the 3D preview uses three.js (MIT licence). These and other open-source components remain under their own licences, which apply to them instead of these Terms. Source and licence terms for CuraEngine are available at github.com/Ultimaker/CuraEngine.
Third-party names
Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio and other product or company names mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners. They are used only to describe compatibility or to make clear that STLSite is independent.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Service depends on your browser and device: very large or complex models may be slow to process or may fail if your device runs out of memory, and some features may not work in every browser. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all outputs are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will meet your requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, STLSite and its operators, contributors and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, materials, equipment or prints, or any personal injury or property damage, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or its outputs.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
This page is a general-purpose terms template. It is not legal advice — if you operate this site commercially, have it reviewed by a qualified professional for your jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
